300 stairs up to the dome of Sacré-Cœur A visit to Sacré-Cœur was one of my pre-planned and definite items on the itinerary. When we were in Paris last, in 2003, our visit was rather short but this time I really wanted to make time for a proper tour of the church and a visit to the dome.

The guide lead us trough small backstreets, cut trough playgrounds and small courtyards that we would never be able to discover ourselves.

HOW TO GET TO MONTMARTRE You can reach Montmartre easily by the Paris metro. Line 12 (Abbesses) and Line 2 (Anvers and Blanche) are the closest metro stations. Montmartre is located north of the city center of Paris and usually takes around 30-40 minutes to arrive via the metro.
